Normex offers a unique solution for ozone treatment of recirculating aquaculture, RAS. Our Razone systems are especially designed for the aquaculture RAS market. The Normex Razone system offer several advantages that applies to aquaculture fish farming such as:

It is essential to maintain good and stable water quality in Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).

At RAS the organic load tend to be high and the homogeneous fish stock leads to a high risk of infections and problems with bacteria, fungi and viruses. Trial during development of the Razone system showed that ozone improved water quality by removing dissolved organics through an improved skimming process.

Razone and Ozone has the following benefits in RAS system:

1. Removal of colloidal solids with Razone by micro flocculation, oxidation and flotation. With the Razone system we remove organic matter by high rate micro flocculation and flotation.

2. Removal of dissolved organic compounds.
The characteristics of the dissolved organic compounds (DOC) is changed by ozone oxidation and precipitation which makes it easier to remove the DOC by micro flotation.

3. The high organic load in RAS system creates a favorable environment for nitrite growth. Ozone has the ability to oxidize lethal nitrite to harmless nitrate.

Normex Desinfecta

The Normex DesinfectaTM system for disinfection and sanitising was originally developed for disinfection in the food industry. The system is approved by the Norwegian Medicine Agency for disinfection of live fish carriers and by the Norwegian Food Safety Authorities, Mattilsynet for disinfection in the seafood industry.

Today Normex DesinfectaTM is used for disinfection of pipes and tanks on fishing vessels, hatchery, processing plant on shore and aquaculture in general.

Injecting ozone into water is a method of disinfection and cleaning that provides unparalleled results for the elimination of bacteria in water and wastewater. It also improves profitability and boosts environmental protection. With ozone there’s no need of chemicals to keep tanks, pipelines, gratings, surfaces and RSW systems clean. A correctly designed cleaning and disinfection plant is both rational in use, efficient and has low operating costs. Ozone can also be utilised in combination with other cleaning methods.

The Adoxpol flotation process continually separates particles and oxidizes organic compounds from all types of flowing liquids. Its unique hydraulic design and patented dispersion system produces a maximum flotation effect. This results in a hydraulic action that influences the velocity and direction of the liquid. Particle matter will be separated at the surface. It’s designed to handle a large flow of liquid in a small footprint and it can separate particle matter at a surface overflow rate of up to 20 m/h, resulting in a product that is compact, efficient and very cost efficient.


Normex Biofoul Control

Normex developed the BioFoulControlTM system to prevent or remove biological growth in heat exchangers or in maritime seawater coolers and intakes. The system uses ozone as the main reactant and it is cost effective, user friendly and safe to handle. It’s also environmentally acceptable and flexible compared to other existing methods.

Normex Odour

Our ozone Normex OzoAirTM systems provide low-level ozone which can be used in a gaseous form to help eliminate mold, fungus, bacterial growth and mildew in areas like cold storage, processing areas, and holding rooms. It is also used in seawater scrubbers to enhance odour removal and to prevent biofouling.

Basically ozone removes odour by destroying the molecules, bacteria, and spores that cause unpleasant smells. Ozone is a highly reactive molecule and is very quick to chemically react with particles that it comes into contact with in the air and on surfaces. The extra oxygen atom in the ozone attaches itself to other molecules, chemically changing their structure to create non-offensive molecules – eliminating the smell.
